Tuesday 26 January 2021 mid afternoon 17+ trucks loaded with interstate donated hay will arrive in Cecil Plains. They will leave Victoria for Cecil Plains on 23 January. Lions have a program for delivering much needed stock feed to needy farmers in Eastern Australia. Drivers and support crew will stay overnight in Cecil Plains and individual trucks deliver the hay out to Darling Downs regions farmers over the next couple of days, said Lions Region 1 Chair Engelbert Krampl.
Farmers - mates help mates As at 5 January 2021 we have currently thirty two applications for assistance. Lions are hoping to reach out to more farming families in the Darling Downs. How can you assist We are asking for donations to providing some pamper packs for farming families. Items include non perishable food and items for children. Lions also want to supply sugar cane molasses to farmers at the same time we deliver hay. Molasses will be sprayed on the hay to “sweeten it up” for the cattle. Any financial or goods assistance big or small would be most welcome. Donations can be made online “Need For Feed” or to our Lions Club of Cecil Plains.

Cecil Plains Carnival is held on the 1st Saturday in December between 4pm - 11pm.
Lion Ian enjoying the Dodgems with his son and some of the local Cecil Plains children at our Christmas Carnival.
Our Christmas Carnival is getting bigger and better every year and with our sponsors help we are able to purchase more and more rides.
The whole Cecil Plains community pitches in to help and it is great to see. The Tennis Club, Kindy, Progress Association, Bongeen Church and other clubs all benefit from us holding this yearly event along with various stall holders.The highlight of the evening is the firework display which leaves the crowd in awe.

Our Annual Fishing Competition is a fun filled family event held each year between September and October. Held with the kind permission of Glenys and Darryl Philby, at their beautiful Cecil Plains Homestead on the banks of the Condamine River. It's a great safe place for families to "put in a line".
Heaps of prizes, BBQ and a bonfire.
Fishermen have from as far as the Sunshine Coast and everything in between Childers. Including Toowoomba, Boggabilla, Roma, Oakey, Pittsworth, Dalby and of course locals from Cecil Plains.
